    SkillSphere Education is a pan Asia soft skill development organization that conducts a range of offline and online educational programmes. These focus on the development of essential soft skills such as public speaking, general awareness, leadership, design thinking among a range of other skills.  In addition, we have a range of online and offline initiatives such as the Global Jigyasa Weekly Awareness Quiz, SkillSphere eMUNs, and other knowledge-oriented events, both online and offline.

    We have been around since 2013, and are extremely well established in the field of skill set development for students of Grades 3 to graduation. As of today, we are associated with 70000+ students and 180+ institutes in India and the Middle East. We are now taking the next big step as a company and envisage to become the biggest skill set development organization, both online and offline, in our areas of expertise. We have especially increased our outreach since the pandemic induced lockdown.

    As a result, SkillSphere is now hiring motivated individuals who can be a part of the core team, as well as freelancers/interns/junior associates for other areas of work such as operations, training and marketing to spur growth at exponential levels.

    This is the job description is for an Assistant Manager – Sales. As we continue to expand over our online and offline programmes and initiatives at a rapid pace, we are looking for an individual who can coordinate and directly operate in the area of sales and lead conversion. The overall need for a deputy for the sales department has become critical especially considering the rising number of calls, coordination and team size.

    Who Are We?

    • SkillSphere Education is a Mumbai based pan Asia skill set development and knowledge enhancement organization with a simple motto – ‘Refining skills, defining futures…’. Through a plethora of educational programmes, knowledge-oriented initiatives and other endeavours, the organization’s main objectives are to develop essential life skills among individuals of all age groups, increase their general and global awareness, improve public speaking and communication skills, and most importantly, assist individuals in gaining the confidence to uninhibitedly express their views and display their talents.
    • It fulfils these objectives by conducting numerous short-term and long term educational programmes via both the online and offline interface. These focus on the development of soft skills such as public speaking, general knowledge enhancement, leadership etc. in an interactive manner. The programmes have been developed in-house and follow SkillSphere’s 3D Model of Learning (Develop, Disseminate, Display). Our educational programmes are primarily for students of Grades 3 to 12.
    • In addition, SkillSphere has a range of other online initiatives such as Global Jigyasa, a weekly current affairs quiz launched every Sunday which is currently attempted by over 60000 individuals pan India. The Global Jigyasa app is also being launched very soon. SkillSphere also has a robust online general awareness resource base, and is at the forefront of spearheading innovative knowledge-oriented events such as quizzes, Model UN conferences etc. both via the online interface, as well as offline - in schools, colleges and private learning centres. 
    • The organization was founded in 2013 by Anansh Prasad, a graduate from an Ivy League University (Cornell University, USA) and a Mumbai University gold medalist Chemical Engineer. With an eclectic, motivated and talented team, SkillSphere Education has expanded to over 29 cities since then and has positively impacted the lives of over 70000 students pan India through its offline programmes and initiatives.
    • Since the onset of the pandemic induced lockdown, SkillSphere’s online educational programmes have become extremely popular both among schools and in the B2C sector. It is rapidly expanding this vertical of its operations and is investing major resources into it as it continues to grow exponentially. 
    • Post the lockdown, SkillSphere envisages to be the largest integrated soft skill development organization in the K12 sector, both online and offline. We are already halfway there and believe it is time to take the next step! Over the years, we have developed tremendous scale and outreach via our offline programmes, and believe the time is ripe to capitalize on the benefits of the online interface to expedite growth.

    Reliable statistics, such as those of Government of India’s DIPP, suggest that only 20-30% of India’s graduates are considered employable. These staggering statistics have nothing to do with academic prowess. In fact, they are primarily a result of poor essential soft skills such as public speaking, expression, problem solving, collaboration, general awareness and other 21st century skills.

    Students spend their developmental years mastering calculus, supply-demand curves, periodic tables and memorizing important incidents from World War 2. While academic studies and progress are imperative in helping individuals achieve their goals, sustained progress and success requires more than just good grades. It requires soft skills, conviction, expression, leadership, design thinking, and many other skills. 

    The importance of developing these skills at a young age (immersion phase) cannot be understated. As individuals grow older, they develop habits/tendencies which become tougher to correct or reorient. Developing soft skills when students are in primary or secondary school makes them second nature and aptly complements academic learning.

    Who Are We Looking For?

    Sales Executive

    As SkillSphere Education continues to grow and moves into its next large-scale phase of expansion, it has become imperative for us to hire individuals who can actively work in the area of sales, help in the overall management of the sales team, and work on effecting lead conversions for our different educational programmes and initiatives.

    We are looking for an individual who will work on B2C sales (specifically in the field of education is preferable but not a pre-requisite). Being able to ensure sales maximization is imperative for rapid growth and scaling of the company’s operations.

    It is for these primary reasons that SkillSphere Education is looking to hire Sales Executives

    A Typical Week In The Life Of A Sales Executive

    • Actively publicizing SkillSphere Education’s online and offline educational programmes through established modes of publicity – telecalling, database mapping etc. At this point in time, we are primarily publicizing our online educational programmes but post the pandemic induced lockdown, we shall also be begin publicizing our widespread offline programmes once again. These programmes have to be primarily publicized to the B2C sector (directly to parents) as SkillSphere Education has a separate B2B publicity department (for schools and institutions). This work shall include lead generation and cold calling, contacting leads, fixing demos, ensuring conversions post demos, and facilitating payment collection. You will be performing these activities as per guidelines and directions laid down by the sales team at SkillSphere Education

     

    • Interacting with existent parents to seek feedback related to existent educational programmes that their children might be enrolled into

     

    • Working on generating conversions for knowledge oriented events conducted by SkillSphere from time to time

     

    • Assisting in areas of publicity and marketing such as lead generation, social media marketing etc. from time to time

     

    • Working with SkillSphere Education’s core team on planning and strategization on a weekly basis.    

    What Should You Be Good At?

    • Communication skills: You must be able to speak freely and confidently with any person right from 8 to 80 years of age
    • Public speaking: While we don’t expect you to be a Barack Obama, you should not suffer from stage fright or a complete lack of confidence when it comes to speaking in front of crowds. If this is not a problem, don’t worry about other nuances of public speaking. You will be trained comprehensively for public relations
    • You must be passionate about the field of education: We are looking for people who are motivated about influencing social change through skill set development
    • Interpersonal skills and confidence when meeting/interacting with individuals otherwise unknown to you. You must also have good presentation skills
    • Systems management
    • Collaboration and team work
    • Seeing the bigger picture. If you are going to be a part of the core team, you need to have a vision for yourself and align it with that of the company. We aren’t looking for someone interested in a 9 to 5 job only!

    How Do We Assess Work?

    SkillSphere Education follows a system which monitors task completion by all employees as per pre-decided timelines on a weekly basis. We value efficacy and efficiency over everything else. In case you get selected for this position, your ability to generate sales conversions; ability to operate within systems effectively and efficiently; and most importantly, your success in publicity and outreach shall be the major parameters for assessing your work.

    Where Will You Be Working From?

    For the longest time our entire team worked out of our office in Andheri, Mumbai or out of Pune. We have a couple of employees who also work out of Bengaluru and Delhi.

    However, post the lockdown, we realized that our efficiencies and creative juices flow even better while working from home. Our team’s output has increased tenfold since then and we do not really need to work out of an office unless we have meetings etc. We have made arrangements for these as well. 

    In general though, SkillSphere Education has begun following a work from home culture which we plan to stick to. Post the lockdown, our offline workshops shall resume. Some of these take place on a weekly basis as well. You might have to travel for them from home as and when required. Additionally, we shall be having full team meetings offline on a case to case basis as well. As a result, we are looking for employees who are based out of Mumbai, Pune or Bengaluru. We are open to discussion and make considerations in this regard though.

     

    What Can You Expect Your Starting Salary to Be?

    We prefer making expectations of all potential applicants clear at the very inception. Based on your performance in the recruitment process, your suitability for this position will be assessed.

    If selected, then your starting salary can vary between ? 18,000/- and ? 20,000/- per month (? 2,16,000 to ? 2,40,000/- per annum plus sales incentives which can amount to an additional Rs. 5000/- to Rs. 15000/- per month based on your sales conversion) dependent upon various factors and parameters including experience and qualifications.
